| Background
Ebenezer Ministries was providentially
founded in prayer by Dr. Carless J. Evans Jr. and Paula Moore in October
1994. The ministry is a non-profit corporation with Dr. Carless J. Evans Jr. as President. The ministry is headquartered in Bailey,
Mississippi.
The name 'Ebenezer' is taken from
1 Samuel 7:12. It means 'hereby Thy help I have come'. All we
do and all we have is done by the help of Almighty God.
At the present time we have served
80,283 nursing home and assisted living residents,
and 10,192 new Christians. Our ministers are mostly retired
pastors and lay people who feel a definite call to this kind
of ministry. It is our goal to have a minister in every state
of the union.
Our purpose at Ebenezer Ministries is
to reach senior citizens who are residents in nursing homes
and assisted living facilities. These dear people are given
hope for tomorrow which is strength for today. We minister
to new Christians by helping them build a life as a new convert
upon a firm foundation on biblical truth. In our Center of
Biblical Studies, there is The Lay Theological Seminary and
a library of over 3,000 volumes. We also publish a monthly
newsletter, The
Journal of Expository Preaching, and CD's of sermons
that inform and inspire. From time to time, new books are
published and made available through our ministry.
